The month of April marks the start of the second quarter of the year and the beginning of Spring in the northern hemisphere. Our garden is full of the vibrant colours of spring bulbs, early flowering shrubs and unfolding blossoms all tempted out by the wonderful warm and sunny weather that we enjoyed in the last part of March.
We were able to make a really good start on mother tincture making for the year during that sunny interlude and now have a satisfying number crossed off our list, including Cherry Plum which we were waiting for last time we wrote to you. The weather in April has so far been rather disappointing by contrast so let’s hope things pick up a little as the month goes by.

The Energies of April
It is likely that we will look back over this year and recognise that April was one of the most powerful and pivotal months of 2022
It is likely that we will look back over this year and recognise that April was one of the most powerful and pivotal months of 2022.
The energy flow certainly contains the potential for the next few weeks to be eventful, turbulent, and somewhat chaotic in nature as well as offering us a huge gateway through which we can delve deeply into our spiritual nature to receive nourishment and inspiration for the future direction of our world.
With the sun in Aries and all planets still in direct motion there is currently a sense of speed, even hurry in the energetics, something that we are likely to continue to experience for most of the month. It will be easy to become distracted and scattered in this energy flow so remembering to stay centred, grounded and connected to yourself will be helpful over the coming weeks.
Solar Flare Activity
Solar flares have also been a part of the energetic picture over the last few weeks and seem likely to continue to be so over the next little while.
It is worth recognising that when these powerful waves of energy are directed towards the Earth not only can they upset our communication systems, but they can also impact our own energy field in uncomfortable ways.
If you should find yourself feeling unusually ungrounded or overly emotional about nothing in particular, this may be the cause. Taking time out to breath, ground and re-balance yourself in nature will help to mitigate the effects of this energy.
New Moon
The new moon was on April 1st and with the Sun, Moon, Chiron and Mercury all together in Aries it offered us wonderful opportunity to do some deep emotional healing. You may still be working with things that were revealed to you around this new moon so dig deep and allow heart space for anything that needs transformation to be resolved with ease and grace.
Jupiter conjunct Neptune in Pisces
A Jupiter / Neptune conjunction in the sign of Pisces only occurs every 160 or so years, making this a once in a lifetime event for all of us.
Both Jupiter and Neptune are the rulers of Pisces, Jupiter being the traditional ruler and Neptune the modern ruler, so both are in their element in watery, spiritual Pisces. They come together on April 12th, opening the gateway for a download of beautiful, uplifting spiritual energy that will continue through to the end of the month and beyond.
Venus will also join them in Pisces in the last days of April to add her expansive loving energies to the party. This is a not to be missed opportunity to align more fully with our spiritual selves and to commit to living with greater spiritual awareness.
The cosmos is presenting us with a choice point, a doorway into a new more expanded reality where we begin to flow in the oneness of all things. Let your heart be your guide as you explore this energy and allow it to subtly redirect your path onto a trajectory that takes you closer to your true self.
Full Moon April 16th
On April 16th we have a full moon in Libra opposite the Sun in Aries, exact at 7.45 pm UK time.
The energy of a full moon often brings things to a head, as well as illuminating what has not previously been clearly visible. Pluto brings an added flavour to this full moon by forming a close T square with the Sun and Moon.
This is uncompromising energy that will highlight the issue of power and how it is used in the world, bringing it centre stage in all of its challenging aspects. Any close connection between Pluto and the Moon also expands emotional intensity so this is likely to be an interesting time.
The underlying message to us here is that we must choose to step into our personal, spiritual power in order for the polarity of power in the world to become more balanced. We have the energies of the Jupiter Neptune conjunction to draw upon to assist us with doing exactly this.
Do your best not to get pulled into any noisy, chaotic events that might kick off in the world around this time and instead make a choice to stay in your heart where you will be able to see the higher perspective and also what is needed to help create greater balance.
The Influence of Aries
During April the sun shines onto the earth through the constellation of Aries, creating a magnification of the qualities and ray energies associated with this constellation, which is represented in western astrology by the glyph of the Ram.
As the first sign in the zodiac, Aries marks the beginning of a new astrological year and brings with it a potent opportunity for new beginnings. Its fiery, initiating energy seeks to promote regeneration and renewal in all areas of life, both spiritually and physically.
Aries energy is highly creative, mental energy that brings with it a flow of inspiration and new ideas from the collective higher mind. Let this energy inspire you to expand your perspective so that you can connect with and contribute into the creation of new possibilities for our collective future.
There are many exciting possibilities that we can now begin to draw into our reality just by raising our vibrational frequency enough to create a frequency match.
What Do You Choose?
On the Earth at the moment there are many different versions of reality all playing out simultaneously. Some of these realities are based in the old 3rd/4th dimensional patterning of polarity and separation that we are leaving behind and others are moving us towards a 5th dimensional reality based in unity consciousness. All of these different ‘realities’ are built from accumulations of particular vibrational frequencies, or energies vibrating at varying speeds.
Since 2012 the threads that weave together the 5th dimensional reality that is now being seeded onto the Earth have grown stronger and the gap between the old and new realities has started to widen considerably.
We have reached another important choice point which the energies this month will be making very obvious to us. The question being asked is, what do you choose? Will you continue to add fuel to the patterns of separation and polarity by putting your attention into that reality or will you choose to strengthen the green shoots of the new one by placing your focus and intention there.
Recognise that neither version of reality is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, it is just that the old familiar one has run its course and rather like an old version of windows on an outdated computer, it will increasingly cease to function. All that is currently holding it in place is our belief that that is how the world works, along with the habits that we have developed in order to be able operate within the restrictions that this patterning has placed upon us, each time we have come into incarnation.
This is Our Time
Many souls have incarnated at this time in order to help facilitate this huge transformational shift into a new, more expanded version of ‘reality’. Most likely you are one of those souls. Part of our soul agreement prior to incarnation was that we would raise our vibrational frequencies sufficiently to be able to help anchor the new 5th dimensional reality that is being birthed right now.
This is our time! Keep in mind just how much light you carry at a soul level and how much support you have from the spiritual realms to carry out your mission. We are at a critical phase in this transformation where we are being asked to step more fully into our spiritual power and allow our light to shine into the world.
We can best do this by making a conscious choice to stay in our hearts and to be very mindful of our choice of vibrational frequencies. The old reality could be very noisy and distracting of our attention this month if we are not very awake and aware. The minute that we start to judge, take sides, feel afraid, angry, or otherwise loose our centre and connection we are no longer resonating with the new reality.
Instead let’s choose to hold a perspective that simply allows the old to play out in whatever way it has to, while energising the vibrational frequencies that will strengthen the new reality that is being birthed.
Essence Suggestions for April
April promises to be a powerful month energetically and one in which we will need to be mindful of the vibrational frequencies that we choose to focus on. There are two distinct themes that emerge from the energy flow this month, so our essence suggestions are based around these two threads.
Staying Out of Old Polarities
There is a strong potential in the energy stream for the issue of power and how it is being used in the world to be further ignited this month. How we respond to this will be important if we want to make the most of the opportunity being presented to make a permanent change to this old polarity-based issue.
We can best do this by choosing not to play the old game ourselves. Be very mindful of what comes to the fore in your consciousness especially around the time of the full moon when the energies will be running particularly strongly.
Choose some essences to help you transform any old polarity-based issues that might become more obvious. The less we empower old realities the sooner they will fade from our experience. Here are a few suggestions for essences that might be particularly helpful this month.
If you find it difficult to step into your personal power or find yourself easily drawn into power battles, then a Solar Plexus Chakra combination might be just what you need to help create greater balance. Consider Inner Freedom; transforming judgement, if you find yourself unable to extract yourself from a right/wrong polarity. Keep Inner Calm; transforming fear, in mind if you find yourself unable to release yourself from the vibrations of fear. Choose Inner Strength; restoring inner resolve to help you find the inner strength to step fully into your power as a light being here to help with the transitional shift now in progress.

There is a huge opportunity this month to expand our ability to live permanently with a much greater degree of spiritual awareness than has previously been possible. All that is required is our awareness, attention, commitment, and willingness to learn to swim in the sea of unconditional love that the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction will be making available to us this month.
