We wish you all a very Happy New Year and hope that you are feeling rested, restored, and ready for whatever opportunities and challenges 2023 has in store for us all.

Looking back over 2022 it was certainly a year of fast moving, often unexpected events which have brought us to a point that we could not easily have foreseen this time last year. The energy flow throughout the year had a focus on moving us forward as well as illuminating those things that needed to be seen, upgraded, or changed.

Events in the world were often dramatic, exposing areas of corruption and abuse of power, many of which are still in the process of playing out as we begin the new year. 2022 was definitely not an easy year yet it feels as though it was a very necessary and important one when it comes to the process of creating our New World.

2023 is going to pick up from where 2022 left off and carry us forward at quite a dizzying pace so it will be important for us to anchor and ground ourselves firmly into the Earth and to make sure that we know how to fill ourselves fully with our own light and love. Community with those of like minds will also be important.

The solstice energies were extremely powerful in December, and they were a culminating point of the whole year. A huge shift in energetic focus took place at the solstice that will continue on through and beyond 2023. The energies are firmly set to support the new fifth dimensional reality that is now very present and available to us. In this energy it will be much harder for those things that do not resonate with the new to continue to flourish.

You might have noticed around this time that you had an influx of old ‘stuff’ or old ‘stories’ coming to the surface. Many people were unwell at this time and needed to take time out to heal and reset. Difficult as this might have felt at the time it was a very positive process that helped us to release and move on as much as we could.

The Energies of January

The energy flow for January is fiery and fast moving, setting the tone for the whole of 2023. The pace will gather over the month as gradually all three of the planets that are currently in retrograde motion turn direct again. Unusually we will then have all planets in direct motion until May.

We are likely to feel this as a blast of forward moving energy which will be great for enhancing any projects that we have been planning but might feel quite overwhelming if we do not remember to stay grounded and centred. There is also quite an aggressive streak in this energy flow that will need careful negotiation so remember to stay in your heart and broadcast as much peaceful energy as you can.

Our choices of how we respond to the energies are especially important now as our capacity to create whatever we focus on in abundance is increasing as our frequencies rise.

The collapse of old systems will become increasingly obvious in the later part of January and on into 2023 and beyond so do remember to keep your focus on nurturing something new rather than on what has served its purpose and needs to be replaced. 

Full Moon

The full moon on January 6th was exact at 11.08pm UK time. With the Sun in Capricorn this was a Cancer full moon, the sign that is ruled by the Moon. You may well have found yourself feeling particularly involved with family, home and friends around this time or possibly involved in healing old emotional wounds.

All Planets in Direct Motion

The three planets turning direct this month are Mars on January 12th, Mercury on January 18th and Uranus on January 23rd.  If you have had some areas of life that have been feeling stuck and confused, greater clarity should be available with these planets in forward motion again. This will make it easier to negotiate the fast-flowing energies that are around, particularly in the second half of January.

Mars energy in full flow can be aggressive and Uranian energies can stimulate rebellious behaviour so be very mindful of how you use these energies. Let your heart guide you to use the higher aspects of these planetary energies so that courage, inspiration, and new ideas can flow in.

New Moon

The Sun moves into Aquarius on January 20th, and we have a new Moon at 1 degree Aquarius on the 21st. This is a real Aquarian new beginning. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, and together these two influences bring forward the themes of human rights, freedom, collaboration, community, radical change, and new ideas.

There are five planets in fixed signs at the new Moon - Sun, Moon, Venus & Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus. Feelings are likely to be intense and it will be easy to find yourself in situations where fixed views and positions predominate, so remember to breath and step back rather than play out an old game.

With the new Moon also conjunct Pluto, the energies at this time will offer us a foretaste of what is to come when Pluto finally moves from Capricorn into Aquarius. This will be a slow process which will not be fully complete until 2024 but the flavour of this new Moon will bring us an important preview of the dynamics to come.

The Influence of Capricorn

The prevailing planetary influence for most of January comes to us from the constellation of Capricorn, represented by the glyph of the mountain goat in personality-based astrology and the unicorn in soul-based astrology.

Over the next few weeks, the Sun will magnify the in-flowing energies from the constellation of Capricorn, making its energetic focus more available to us. Tenacity and ambition are both qualities inspired by Capricornian energies. These qualities can either be used to further selfish materialistic ambition or they can be channelled into a co-creative force that inspires new more expanded opportunities for all the human family.

Pluto has been in Capricorn since 2008 magnifying the need for us to overhaul the old structures and establish the new foundations we need to evolve. It is now in the very last degrees of Capricorn but still very active in its quest to help us with this, something it will continue to do until it finally moves fully into Aquarius in 2024.

An Important Choice Point

We are now mid-point in the 20-year transition period from 2012 to 2032. This is quite a milestone and while there is much chaos as things change and adjust both within us and in the world at large we are making good progress.

It will be important in this coming year and the ones that follow it that we add our energy to the new and try our best not to get distracted as the old inevitable breaks down to leave space for something new. Keep in mind that there are many who are still trying to hold the old in place and they are going to find this increasingly difficult in the energy flow that we have now.

They will likely get very noisy, and they will do their best to generate a lot of fear to prevent us from seeing the truth that is clearly available to us when we look from a heart space. New things are possible, and they are already beginning to come into manifestation.

We have arrived at another important choice point, and one that we must each take individual responsibility for. As we go further into this twenty year transition phase, multiple new realities are opening up, some are based in the new timeline and others are based in the old. On a moment-by-moment basis we are being asked to choose which ‘reality’ we wish to predominate in our life experience.

Choosing the new takes mindfulness, determination and focus since we are used to conforming to the general consensus ‘reality’ that has been the generally agreed way of living life on Earth for a very long time. However, this is now open to change, since realities based in fear and separation are no longer supported in the current energy flow, although they are still available to choose should you wish to do so. So how can we make the most of this important moment of choice?

Permission to be Yourself

Give yourself full permission to be yourself, to listen to your inner voice and to view life from the perspective of your heart. Remember that you as a soul/spirit had a particular purpose for incarnating and that you brought with you all of the gifts and talents that you would need to fulfil that purpose.

Now is definitely the time to bring these into greater awareness and use. Recognise it is unlikely that they will fit into the mainstream view of how things work as this is based on old perspectives so just anchor them as your reality and seek out those of like mind to associate with. The more you stay focussed on your reality the stronger it will grow.

Strong Foundations

The more our frequencies rise and the more light that we embody the stronger our energetic foundations need to be. Pay careful attention to your grounding every day, making sure that you are anchored into your earth star chakra and that you chakra system is functioning as optimally as it can. L

ook after your physical body as this layer of you is precious and important. The evolutionary changes we are currently orchestrating have to be anchored through physical bodies and this can be an energetically and physically demanding process. Listen to your body as it will tell you what it needs. Maybe more rest, a cleanse or different food than you have been used to eating might be important for a while. Everything that we put into our body has a frequency so choose carefully what you put into yours.

Negotiate the minefield of dietary information available these days with care as not all of it will align with your changing body and rising frequency. Let your heart and intuitive knowing be your guide to what will help you.

Let Old Stories Go

We all have parts of us that still have some connection into old timelines and realities but if we let them these will clear through very quickly in the new energy flow. Just observing the old ‘story’ without judgement is a very good starting place for this.

Notice the emotions and thought patterns that are associated with it but do your very best to avoid getting consumed by them. Notice what the trigger was that showed you the old story, thank it, but detach from it so that you have full ownership of the energies you want to uplift.

Sit with the old energies in your heart space and allow them to talk with you until they begin to lose their charge and dissipate. Use some essences to help with this process if needed.
