Our June newsletter! How did it happen that we have arrived at the mid-point in the year already? June is always a month of abundance in the garden with beautiful displays of roses and other summer flowers coming on stream throughout the month.

This year we have a wonderful show in the garden to start the month, because everything has been encouraged into bloom by the wonderful sunny weather that we have been blessed with over the last few weeks.

We have also been encouraged by the sunshine and have been out and about making all the mother tinctures that we could over the last few weeks, so the making season has got off to a great start this year. Hurrah!

The Energies of June

June is a month in which the energy flow will be encouraging us to resolve the past, let go and move on so that we can nurture our new future.

The early part of 2018 was quite a tough period for many people as we all worked to make the internal changes demanded by the often-turbulent energetics. If you still have a few of these old issues lurking in corners the early part of the month would be a good time to focus on finally leaving them behind. Should you find yourself faced with issues that you thought were long gone, don’t beat yourself up, you are definitely not alone. The energies are dredging deep these days so just see it as another opportunity to let go of something you cannot take forward into your future.

The cosmos is providing us with an unusually watery, emotionally sensitive environment this month, and particularly so during the week following the full moon on May 29th. This will be a good time to dip into your emotional underworld and allow space for old emotional issues to be gently processed and released. Intuitive inner wisdom always flows best in watery environments, so do take extra time to listen in to yourself over the next few weeks.

The energetic set up this month will bring a focus to transformation in relationships, so you may find old family dynamics and/or issues with partners old and new coming to the fore. The key to remember here is that it is important that our relationships evolve, so anything that is stuck in an old paradigm is simply being highlighted for review and rearrangement. Communication and connection are enhanced in this energy flow so use this to your advantage by being willing to listen, discuss and resolve in new ways that benefit everyone in the situation.

The Influence of Gemini

For a large part of June, the prevailing planetary influence comes to us from the constellation of Gemini, represented in western astrology by the glyph of the twins.

The two brightest stars in the constellation of Gemini are named for the twins Castor and Pollux in Greek mythology, twin brothers born to the Queen of Sparta one with a mortal father and the other fathered by the immortal Zeus. Their influence highlights our own mortal and immortal aspects and reminds us of the need to integrate both into our life experiences.

The constellation of Gemini focuses the potent forces of the second Ray of Love & Wisdom, so while the sun is in Gemini we receive a heightened flow of the unifying, harmonising energies of unconditional love. The third great spiritual festival of the year, the Festival of Humanity is celebrated on the Gemini full moon - May 29th this year.

As the combined energies of Love and Wisdom pour onto the planet, the accumulated energies from the two previous spiritual festivals (those in Aries & Taurus) are synthesised and distributed, raising our consciousness and bringing a focus to the healing of duality.

Healing the Heart

June is a month in which the energy flow will be encouraging us to resolve the past, let go and move on so that we can nurture our new future.

With a prevailing watery, energetic environment and a focus on evolving relationships this month we could easily find ourselves involved in transforming old emotional wounds, especially those associated with the heart.

It is important that we recognise just how important it is for us to go with the flow on this one and allow anything that needs transformation, a non-judgemental space in which to realign. So, if you find yourself connecting with some old familiar heart wounds this month, take a breath, detach and observe what has been triggered. Notice particularly the defence pattern or patterns that you unconsciously put in place to help you cope with the original pain, because it is these that will offer up the resistance to moving on.

For instance, say you experienced a lack of nurturing and loving acceptance as a child which still sits in your heart chakra as a painful memory. Feeling unloved as a small child does not provide emotional security or a sense of physical safety, so your coping strategy in this difficult situation might well have been to shut yourself off and to agree to do what everyone around you wanted to gain approval. Many other patterns then get layered on top of this original set of defence patterns, including a lack of confidence and self-value as well as a misunderstanding about how to create positive personal boundaries in relationship situations. However, more important than any of these is the resulting inability to love and accept yourself exactly as you are, something that can easily pass unnoticed because it is just so unknown.

Compassion for Self

When we are immersed in a stream of unconditionally loving energies of ever increasing intensity like those we are experiencing now, the heart naturally tries to open to receive the nurturing that this provides, however this also triggers those unconscious defence patterns that try to remind us that this might not be a safe thing to do, and look what happened when we tried that before, etc.

What will ultimately render all of those carefully accumulated defence patterns redundant, is allowing compassion and love for self to take precedence in your heart chakra. As the personality feels loved and secure it begins to trust again and then the old emotional wounding and related defence patterns will simply dissolve in the love that you are. Remember, the universe has your back so just allow it to help you remember how to love yourself.

Essence Suggestions for June

So, it seems that a good place to start this month’s Essence Suggestions is with a review of some combinations that will expand our ability to extend greater acceptance and loving compassion to ourselves. This immediately takes us to the heart chakra and to our Rose Collection Essences.

As a species they hold the vibration of unconditional love and their gift to us is their ability to help awaken and expand the spark of Divine Love embedded within our own heart centre. With the spotlight on evolving relationships this month, it is very possible that old family issues may present themselves for a rethink and/or resolution. Remember in this situation that you cannot change anyone else, but you might be able to facilitate change by refusing to continue to play out old patterns.
