It is unusual for us in the UK to enjoy a long enough spell of hot summer weather that the idea of some gentle refreshing rain becomes a welcome idea. However, this year is such a year and as we contemplate the month ahead that is exactly what we are wishing for, some rain to refresh our parched garden and give the plants that flower later in the year the incentive to keep on going. On the plus side we have of course, had some wonderful sunshine to help us with our mother tincture making and we are most grateful for this.

The Energies of July
The cosmos has plenty in store for us this month although the focus will be much more on movement at an unconscious level rather than lots of action in the outer world.
Over the next few weeks the planetary alignments have a large focus in the elements of earth and water, the feminine aspects of creation. This will make for a focus of emotional intensity and the opportunity to explore your unconscious as well as expanding your spiritual connection.
This energy will require us to feel deeply and to do our best to go with the flow so that adjustments and integration can take place at an inner level. It could also have a tendency to create tension and push buttons in relationships so do remember to breath and remain as neutral as possible, so that you have the choice to respond as opposed to react.
Retrograde Planets and Eclipses
There are also an unusually large number of retrograde planets this month which will bring a further emphasis to the need for us to review, reflect and look within.
Themes with a particularly strong focus here are assessment of our actions and future direction in life, review of what we take ownership and responsibility for, greater understanding of ourselves as a spiritual being, contribution to the creation of good for all, and the ongoing process of clearing the legacy of the past.
These themes may be particularly strongly emphasised around the time of the full moon partial eclipse on July 12th and the new moon lunar eclipse on July 27th. Eclipses can be powerful times to get greater clarity and make any adjustments in direction that you might need going forward, so do take some time out for yourself to connect in.
The Influence of Cancer
During July, while the sun shines onto the earth through the constellation of Cancer we experience a magnification of the opportunities inherent within its nurturing, watery energies.
At an everyday level this could take our attention to the home we live in and the family that we are connected to through birth, marriage etc. At a collective level it might bring a focus to the need for us to take greater responsibility for the Earth, our planetary home and for our connection to the collective human family.
In the Ancient Wisdom Teachings Cancer is considered to be the gateway through which souls originally entered into physical incarnation so each year this energy also brings us the potentiality of ‘rebirth’ or a new starting point.
The watery nature of Cancerian energy will be a wonderful resource to draw upon this month as you turn within to release and transform anything that is holding you back. By its very nature water is fluid, flexible & powerful and can be relied upon to always find a way around any obstacles it comes up against.
Honouring the Feminine Within
The energetic flow this month has a very feminine flavour to it and it is requesting that we slow down, go within and connect with ourselves at a deep emotional level.

It is offering us an opportunity to honour the feminine principle of creation and allow it to become more of an influence in our lives. This is part of the much-needed expansion of feminine energy that is taking place on our planet to restore balance and harmony so that we can begin to move into fifth dimensional unity consciousness.
There are many misperceptions that have built up around both feminine and masculine energy, both are wounded and incomplete and as a result it is often difficult for either to fully trust the other. These difficulties are all legacies from living in third dimensional polarity consciousness and all the patterns and emotional wounding that relate to this are slowly coming into the collective awareness to be released and healed. This is clearly a big process that will take some time for us to complete as a group consciousness, however as individuals we can make a big difference by focussing on the creation of greater balance and harmony within ourselves.
The next few weeks will be a very productive time in which to focus on honouring the feminine aspect within and allowing her voice to be heard, valued and appreciated. Allow yourself to slow down, connect within and feel into your emotional feminine self. If she feels neglected, wounded, fearful, angry, unloved etc you may find that this is what you will connect with first. Just allow her a voice, let the emotions dissipate and then move to a deeper level where you can connect more fully with your feminine wisdom for healing.
Many of us, whether we are currently in feminine or masculine bodies, unconsciously resist the influence of the feminine because it has been suppressed for so long on our planet. It is important that we now look beyond all the stereotypes that have been developed as a result and simply allow them to dissolve without attachment. Many have already faded into the past, however where there is emotional attachment, perhaps through buried anger or fear, they will persist until the polarised energies are transformed.
Keep in mind this month, that it is the loving co creative cooperation between the feminine and masculine aspects of creation that will allow for greater harmony and balance to manifest in our world. The intuitive, emotional, flowing energies of the feminine require the structure, strength and balanced power of the masculine to be a creative force for good in the world and vice versa. Take some time out this month to observe how these two energies work together in your own inner world. Maybe you will discover some old misperceptions that could be dissolved so that you can experience greater love and joy in your life.
Essence Suggestions for July
With our theme this month; Honouring the Feminine Within in mind, let’s start with some essence combinations that might be particularly supportive in this regard.

The energetic flow this month is prompting us to slow down, look within, review and reflect, however this is not something that everyone finds easy to do in the noisy, chaotic world we now live in. It is also true that many people find it easier to lose themselves in busyness and activity, rather than go within to connect with what they are feeling. In a month where the feeling, emotional side of life is likely to be highlighted it might be helpful to pay attention to how you personally deal with this issue and find support for yourself if necessary.
Check out the Inner Harmony; relaxation, combination if you tend to be over active, mentally and physically and need help to relax and slow down. If it is uncomfortable emotions that are keeping you in activity mode, be brave and allow yourself to feel what is requesting a voice.

All these difficult emotions create a kind of inner static that disturbs your ability to connect with yourself at an emotional level, until they are released and transformed.
