The White Chestnut Remedy

We're absolutely loving the amazing flower display on the Horse Chestnut trees this year! Everywhere we go at the moment these majestic trees are in full bloom and are looking really stunning.
The Horse Chestnut was one of the trees that Dr Edward Bach chose to make a remedy from and it must have struck quite a chord with him when he connected with the energies of its flowers. He would have first made a remedy from its abundant clusters of white flowers when he was living in or around Sotwell in 1935.
The White Chestnut remedy is for those who suffer from a constantly busy mind in which there is no reprieve from revolving thoughts that circulate round and round like a hamster on a wheel. They often experience recurring internal mental arguments and conversations, all states that effectively cut them off from the present moment and can sometimes make it difficult to sleep.
Dr Bach said of White Chestnut that is was:
"For those who cannot prevent thoughts, ideas, arguments which they do not desire from entering their minds. Usually at such times when the interest of the moment is not strong enough to keep the mind full. Thoughts which worry and will remain, or if for a time thrown out, will return. They seem to circle round and round and cause mental torture. The presence of such unpleasant thoughts drives out peace and interferes with being able to think only of the work or pleasure of the day."
White Chestnut is one of our most popular Bach Flower Remedies here at Crystal Herbs. When you have a lot of thoughts going around in your head, a lot of mental chatter or you find you're repeatedly thinking through all that has happened during your day, it's the Bach remedy to turn to.
The gentle energies of the White Chestnut remedy bring tranquillity, clarity of thought and a calmness of mind.
